Whenever an iconic brand dares to rear its cool keep-up-with-the-times factor, fashionistas squint and shoot lazy eyes all over the place. I know I do. However, if/ when such a brand does not betray the novel element and merely extends its much loved status, all comes well with the fashion lot. Such is the case with Clarks; I grew up with Clarks crisscrossing generations all over our household and it is now my turn to decide on a pair that could possibly surpass (fashion) seasons. I have my eyes all over the HIS and HERS Duty Trek bootie. There is something trendy, something timeless and something global about this shoe and its faultless innovative usage of premium materials. The tale goes; subsequent to the passing on of Nathan Clark in 2011, a treasure trove of sketches, ideas, inspirations and piles of unfinished projects depicting his sense of adventure were discovered. It is reported that the completion and resurrection of the Duty Desert style (other name) pays homage of Nathan’s original vision. It all makes sense, this is not a return. No. This is Clarks affirming their 185 years long sartorial existence and I want to own a part of this history.
