I’m not in the business of shaming people whose intentions include doing well for the planet, in fact, I’m all for that type of soldiering, but I do love an option to exercise my right to choose the clothing I include in my wardrobe. Let’s get real with it; “green fashion” is all over the place and as much I would like to consider myself a level minded fashion person, the truth is, only a few of the labels that go eco can provide styleable stuff –there, I said it! So, being a conscientious brand ambassador for PUMA, I have since taken to study almost every piece I wear and to a delightful surprise, my recent go-to pants (in a very on-trend army green colour) happen to tick an eco friendly box whilst making me look all kinds of fine. As part of the PUMA Wilderness Collection, there is a small FAIRTRADE label on these slim fitting cargo-pants style chinos to assure the wearer that good quality cotton was produced by FAIRTRADE accredited small-scale farming cooperatives, according to strict social and environmental standards and that the farmers have received a fair deal. The collection of woven shirts, cargo shorts, pants, graphic t-shirts, boots and so much more is currently available in 16 different countries campaigning to provide clothing that is made locally, inspired by the imagery and beauty of Africa and furthering PUMA’s mission as a sustainable Sport-lifestyle company. You don’t need me to tell you the 411, read up about it here.
