Every time I think about a pop-up shop coming up, I tend to wind about with my thoughts, imagining a kiosk set-up where start-up traders gleefully beseech for their wares to not make it on their trips home. This little thought continues to buzz in my head even though I have been to many a pop-up set-up and hardly ever experienced anything pitiable. Set to tarnish every bit of my classist thought process, this weekend will see a pop-up set up grander than the rest. South African Fashion Week will celebrate 50 local designers at the newly refurbished Brooklyn Mall in the East of Pretoria. As a first for the country’s capital, the talented bunch will launch the very first of the Spring/ Summer Collections to the public (yes, ready to sell) throughout the weekend, with instillations happening daily at the event(s). The #SAFWPopUpShop will enable all attendees to browse and buy a wide selection of authentic South African brands under one roof. Will you be there? Tweet and tell.
