My sisters and I keep rocking hard (note how utterly uneasy I am, about using “rocking” in this regard). But yeah Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen are undoubtedly my awesomest Trans-Atlantic relatives by far (there I go again, throwing “awesomest” in here) and their novel high-end luxury label THE ROW has just been introduced right here in SA. Currently trading at the sumptuous Luminance Store in Hyde Park, MK and ASH’s Spring / Summer 2013 collection is a definite correspondent to their brand’s sartorial ethos. This is evident in their minimalism approach, a less ostentatious luxury and an understated ageless sexiness. This particular collection is said to have drawn inspiration from the gentle artworks of the eighteenth-century Japanese painter Ito Jakuchu, timeless Savile Row-esque tailoring and American folk. These wardrobe staples are produced in light silk fabrics, crisp cottons and airy chiffons and in the most exciting and ultra feminine cuts. It goes without saying that the next time I step into Luminance, I will be looking at stuff for a woman in search for the new fashion rules; Longer, Looser, Lighter, Layered.
