There is a new retail sheriff in town and his plan his to stylishly alter the local menswear side of things. Last week saw the Jo’burg launch of a menswear ready-to-wear clothing label; Celio*straight from France. The brand was founded in 1985 and their newest store opened in Rosebank joining 1000 outlets currently operating in 60 countries across five continents. For its winter 2013/14 collection, Celio* revisited the idyllic male wardrobe and decided on a broad range of materials including woollen fabrics, velvet and chambray among many devoted to supreme elegance crafted in warm tones of burgundy, khaki, chestnut and caramel. It seems as though particular attention was paid to a classic fit, designed closer to the body shape. Remaining very close to the current trends, as far as menswear colour palettes are concerned, the brand keeps true to its philosophies and involves newer proportions, military influences in shades of brown, grey, green and electric blues. Celio*’s suiting is the precise Must-Have set of the season. I am crushing on the refinement of flannels and tweeds which are made particularly to suit the looming cooler months. I have taken liberty to pick out these few items/ trends to add onto my must-stalk-for pieces.
